Challenger Games

In June 10 pupils from Earth, Mercury and Jupiter Class represented the school at the Kent Challenger Games which was held at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford.

We had a fantastic day in the sunshine, taking part in a variety of fun and exciting team challenges. The pupils made us very proud with their problem-solving and collaborative skills. Throughout the day they demonstrated ‘Confidence, Resilience and Success’!

Finally, the day ended with a surprise award for our team banner which members of Earth Class had made. We received a £100 voucher which we will spend on equipment chosen by the team for the school playground, so that all pupils will benefit from this. Well done all!

CycloPark

For experiential this term some pupils are visiting Cyclopark to take part in cycling activities and some pupils are visiting Mote Park and taking part in water sports activities. With the current weather both of these activities are proving very popular.

For PE lessons our older children visit Kings Sports Centre. This term they have been learning football.

Medway Parent and Carers Forum are excited to announce the launch of our 4th Annual Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) survey. This survey is a crucial tool for gathering valuable insights from parents and carers about their experiences and the support their children receive.

Survey Details:

Purpose: To gather feedback on SEND support and services around Education, Health, Social Care, Post 16(If Appropriate), Cost of Living, Local Offer, SENDIAS, School Transport and more.

Participants: Parents and carers of children with SEND.

Duration: Approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

Prize Draw A chance to enter our free prize draw to win one of three £50 vouchers – They will aim to get this to parents/carers before Christmas.

Confidentiality: All responses will be anonymised when feeding back to keep confidentiality.

Deadline: Please complete the survey by 17th December.

Medway parents and carers Medway Parent and Carers Forum believe that by working together, we can make a significant impact on the quality of SEND services and support.

This academic year some of our pupils have started to attend Lower Bush farm as part of their BTEC Land based animal care. We also have a nurture group that attends once a week. Our pupils are really enjoying learning how to look after Alpaca’s and developing their practical skills in relation to animal care. 🦙

Medway Winter Coat Drive
The Medway Children and Family Hubs are seeking donations of undamaged adult and children’s coats Which will be re-gifted to families across Medway.

Donations can be dropped off at any of the Medway Children and Families Hubs.

Details of the pop-ups that will be running in November will be on the Medway Hub app and be posted on social media; So, keep an eye for updates.

All families are welcome to attend and be gifted a coat.

They really appreciate your support for donations, it could make a real difference to a family.

Medway public health are delighted to be able to share a new set of recorded sessions for Parents YouTube Channel.

The Child Health Team conducted an online parent/carer survey to seek views on our current workshop offer and ways in which we can improve the offer. Parents and Carers requested recorded sessions on puberty and sexual health. I am pleased to say that those topics are now available for Medway parents and carers to view online.

The new sessions are on:
Puberty and Growing Up
Sexual Health
The sessions can be accessed via our Child Health Parents YouTube Channel.
