Qualifications and Examination Results 2026

We are proud to celebrate the achievements of our pupils across a broad range of academic, functional and vocational qualifications.

At City of Rochester School, qualification pathways are personalised to reflect pupils’ individual strengths, starting points, aspirations and planned destinations. We are ambitious for every pupil and support young people to work towards qualifications that are appropriately challenging and prepare them for their next stage of education, training, employment and adulthood.

2026 Results Highlights

Our pupils achieved qualifications across GCSE, Functional Skills, vocational and creative pathways.

GCSE achievements

Pupils achieved GCSE qualifications across:

English Language • Mathematics • Biology • Physics • History • Statistics • Art • Drama

Highlights included:

Grade 7 in Art

Grade 5s in English Language

Grade 5 in Mathematics

Grade 5s in Biology and Physics

Grade 5 in Drama

Pupils also achieved GCSE qualifications at grades 2 and 3 across a range of subjects, representing important individual achievement and progress from their starting points.

Functional Skills

Pupils successfully achieved Functional Skills qualifications at Level 1 and Level 2, including Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics.

Vocational qualifications

Pupils achieved vocational and practical qualifications across a range of areas, including:

Animal Care • Construction • Engineering • Digital Media • Home Cooking

Achievements included qualifications at both Level 1 and Level 2, including a Distinction at Level 1.

Arts Award

Creative achievement was also recognised through Arts Award, with pupils achieving qualifications including Silver Arts Award at Level 2 and Bronze Arts Award at Level 1.

Recognising Individual Achievement

Examination results are an important part of how we recognise pupil achievement, but they represent only one aspect of success at City of Rochester School.

For our pupils, successful outcomes also include progress from individual starting points, increased independence, communication and self-advocacy, preparation for adulthood and successful transition to appropriate next destinations.

Our 2026 results demonstrate the breadth of pathways available to our pupils, from GCSEs to Functional Skills and vocational qualifications, enabling young people to achieve meaningful qualifications that reflect their strengths and future aspirations.
